Junior Prom 2010

Josh asked Jennie Naisbitt to prom. He wrote out on papers Will you go to prom with me and put them in cupcake batter and baked them. She said yes and then the planning started. Josh planned to whole night and had 7 other couples come with. We started with everyone coming to our house at 1 pm to pick teams for the Amazing Race Fremont Style. There were 4 groups of 4. The challenges were 1. Wrastle the loose chickens from our backyard and throw them back in the coop 2. Dig through a pot of spaghetti noodles for change (at Reeve's house) and go to Triple Stop to buy a drink while asking a stranger for a penny 3. Go to Grandpa Paulsens house and shoot cans off the fence with a beebee gun 4. Go to Lucas' house and label antlers and horns from different animals and then sing Jingle Bells on animal calls 5. Go to Kristens house and each person in the group had to eat either a sardine, baby food, a pepper or deviled ham 6. Go to Jeff's house and have their picture taken while shooting a basketball and finally when they thought they were done they had to go to the Primary presidents house and outrun a llama to get a colored bandanna that matched their team color. Of course we had snow and rain and wind, but the kids were troopers and had a blast. After the game they went home and got ready for the dance and then went to eat at Goodwood. After the dance they all came here to watch a movie. After the first group showed up our power went out! Chris found our generator and plugged it in so the kids could watch a movie. Josh took his date home at 2 am! It was a night to remember!

Tonight we celebrated Jaycee's birthday. She is turning 12 on Sunday!!! We had a "sunday dinner" which is what she wanted.....pork roast, yams, mashed potatoes, corn and peaches. After opening presents, of which her favorite present of all time was a cell phone, we went to Farrs Fresh and make our own ice cream creations. It was so fun having Grandpa Paulsen with us. Happy Birthday Jaycee
