Ella has learned the "Hannah scum"

Ella has learned how to say no and to scum people off if she doesn't agree with what they say.  She has definitely learned this from Hannah....the original scummer offer!

Ella and I went on a walk this morning and saw a lone sunflower among tall grasses.  It was so beautiful standing tall and facing the sun.  I know I should say something profound about how the sunflowers always face the sun, but I'm just not cool enough!
Out to the garden again to pick more tomatoes for dinner.  Of course Ella finds a green one and starts taking bites out of it.  I hope she will always be this good eating her vegetables!

Ella and the binkies

Ella LOVES her binkies and I don't care.  As long as she doesn't take them to kindergarten I'll be fine.  Josh went to homecoming with Kara (from Northridge).  They went to the zoo for the day activity and ate at Roosters.  Saturday Chris, Ella, Jenny Stringham and I went to Centerville and picked apples, peaches and pears.  This is the first time I have ever canned pears.  Self reliance is FABULOUS!

First day of school 2010. Wow! I have a senior in high school and a 9th grader! They are getting so old.......but I'm not!

Ella helps mom pick tomatoes

Ella helps mom pick tomatoes

Our tomatoes are ready to be picked and turned into salsa, chili sauce, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes and tomato juice so Ella came out to help me pick tomatoes. It was about 50% green tomatoes she picked and 50% red. When I went inside to bring the buckets I came back out to find her sitting on the ground with her hand in the cage. She was enthralled with reaching in the cage, finding a tomato, squeezing it and bringing the goo out onto her lap. She loves being in the garden getting dirty, eating green tomatoes and green peppers. We love our garden!
